Lucas Santos

Lucas Santos is a third-year Biology major with minors in Chemistry and Spanish at Howard University. She is deeply committed to advancing health equity through community-based initiatives, culturally competent care, and public health advocacy.

Lucas currently serves as the National Philanthropy Liaison and the Director of Philanthropy for her chapter, where she leads fundraising efforts to support local health equity initiatives and acts as a liaison between undergraduate chapters and the national executive board. Her work focuses on mobilizing resources to address structural health disparities and supporting mission-aligned community organizations.

Her academic and experiential background includes global health and medical Spanish training, with experience in patient communication and public health challenges in underserved and rural communities. Lucas has participated in biomedical research, including published work on cardiovascular biomechanics, and remains actively engaged in service through food access programs, science education, and equity-focused student organizations.

Through her interdisciplinary training and leadership, Lucas is dedicated to promoting equitable access to healthcare and improving health outcomes for marginalized populations.
